The conversations I’ve had about all the above things and more, with different kinds of people, in these four years of college, is what I treasure the most. There are memories- best and worst. There are situations you are in, which you wouldn’t imagine coming out of successfully. And that’s what gives you courage the next time you face something unpleasant.

As I sit at home, in the heart of a big city with traffic sounds, out of every bird- crows chirping, pollution around me, all I can think of is the peace, the quiet and the beauty Loni was. Best in monsoons and winters. You could see the clear skies every night with stars twinkling in it. If I close my eyes, I can feel how lively and happy I felt there because of what beauty Loni was.

It wasn’t an extraordinary beauty. What made it more special was the people around me I could tell how happy I was to be there at that moment. And the best part, without thinking for even a millisecond. There was no filter, no ‘What would he/she think if I say this’. It was all accepted the way you are. You could be yourself. And everyone was being themselves. It was the best.

The freshest memory I have of being at Loni was when slowly people, friends had started packing, vacating their rooms and leaving. How badly I just wanted to hold on to each and every moment I was spending with them. I was paying attention to each and every detail of that moment, painting a picture in my mind, so I could go back to it when I think about those people or situations.

For me, four years of MITID were all about the people I spoke to or met during that time, even if it was just for a short period of time. It was an every second learning process for four years. I am missing it already and I can’t imagine missing it more for my entire time ahead.

Sad that it’s over, more than glad that it happened!
