College was always a place for new experiences and surprises for me. But the one that took me on a roller coaster ride was on 1st October 2015. A December child, I never had the opportunity of celebrating my birthday in hostel and we all know how hostel birthdays are. So my beloved Farm Family (Arushi Mathur, Sneha Mehta , Ojasvi Malekar, Prachi Deshingkar, Anushka Mallick, Anjana Narayan) decided to throw a surprise birthday party. A normal day turned into a special one when I entered the dimly lit block with a cake in front and my friends singing for me. I was so stunned that the only reaction I could give was “guys but it’s not my birthday today”. I was overwhelmed. The party kick started and it reached to every level a hostel birthday party could. Music, dance, drinks… ummm well you know the drill. Everyone was on a roll. But the night did not end the way we thought. We escaped the mouth of the lion (warden) and saved ourselves from quite a scandal. Unlike we expected, the night ended with panic. It was one eventful night. Today, we laugh our asses out on that event.

But the important thing is whether it was good times or bad, we all stood for each other. We laughed at happy moments and consoled each other at sad ones.

I was born to my Farm Family in hostel that day.
